YOUNGSTERS taking part in an Oxford University project to help them reach their potential told their parents what they have learnt in special presentations.
The 30 Oxfordshire teenagers, who are part of the Oxford Young Ambassadors scheme, made the presentations at St Anne’s College in Woodstock Road on Saturday. They spoke about their book club, and trips to universities in Bath and Liverpool.
The three-year scheme involves monthly workshops and meetings to help students realise their potential so they can achieve A grades in GCSEs when they are 16.
The pupils, aged between 13 and 15, then become ‘ambassadors’ for further and higher education within their communities and their peer group.
St Gregory the Great pupil Lara Curtin, 14, from Littlemore, has been involved in the project since December.
She said: “It’s made me feel like I can achieve more than I did before.”
More than 100 students and family members came to the event.
