THE £70m redevelopment of Bicester’s town centre has reached an important milestone as the steel structure for the building has been completed.
Containing nearly 2,000 tonnes of steel, the frame was completed in less than four months.
It forms the skeleton of a new Sainsbury’s supermarket, a seven-screen cinema and six new shops.
Norman Bolster, lead member for estates and the economy at Cherwell District Council , said: “It is a massive vote of confidence in Bicester town centre and I am looking forward to watching it take shape in the coming months.”
