A MAN accused of threatening his ex-partner with a sawn-off shotgun has declined to give evidence at his trial.
James Bisson denies possessing a prohibited firearm and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The 23-year-old, of Sage Walk, Greater Leys, declined the opportunity to take to the witness stand at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.
Bisson is accused of pulling a gun from a rucksack and threatening 20-year-old Jazmin Grey-Turner at a house in Dunnock Way, Greater Leys, on January 29.
Jurors were yesterday told there is no DNA or fingerprint evidence linking Bisson to a gun and rucksack found in a shed close to his house after the alleged incident.
In a police interview read out in court, Bisson told officers: “I ain’t had no firearms.
“I ain’t never been in possession of a firearm. I’ve never seen a firearm. So obviously they’re making up bull**** ain’t they.” Urging detectives to carry out forensic tests, he added: “I’ve never owned or touched or been in possession of a gun.”
Defence witness Darian Rivers, a friend of the defendant, said he broke up the confrontation between Bisson and Miss Grey-Turner but did not see a gun or rucksack.
