A NURSERY has been told to improve after an inspector criticised 'variable' teaching.
Beanstalk Nursery & Daycare in Milton Hill, near Didcot, has been rated 'requires improvement' following an Ofsted visit.
Ofsted's report, published on Christmas Eve, stated: "The manager does not monitor staff's practice effectively to identify what staff need to do to improve the quality of teaching.
"Although staff are well qualified, quality of teaching varies and is not consistently good."
The regulator visited on November 30 and gave a rating of 'requires improvement' in all four categories of assessment.
The nursery, which had 49 children on roll during the inspection, had previously been rated 'good' by Ofsted in 2015.
In October Ofsted published documents relating to two complaints about Beanstalk Nursery & Daycare.
One of the documents states that in August, Ofsted suspended the nursery's registration as 'we believed children may be at risk of harm'.
Days later it lifted the suspension, however, after it was satisfied that its concerns had been addressed.
Ofsted's new report did note several positives about the nursery.
It stated: "Staff build strong, caring relationships with children and meet their care and health needs well.
"The manager monitors children's progress suitably overall and takes some steps to address any emerging differences in learning."
