LYNN Wright has been running the Bicester Beds store for decades and is a popular personality in the town. The store opened in 1947 and has been run by her family since then. She has lived in Bicester all her life and campaigns for the town. Lynn was instrumental in forcing Oxfordshire County Council to shelve plans to pave Bicester’s Market Square. Last year she launched a petition and collected thousands of signatures opposing the pedestrianisation scheme. She is keen Bicester should maintain its tradition.

WHAT I’M CALLED: Lynn l MY AGE IN YEARS: Just a bit older than my teeth l WHAT I DO: Run my own business and keep after my nieces and grandchildren whom I adore

WHERE I LIVE: Bicester

WHO I LOVE: My husband Dave and my family l HAPPIEST YEAR: It’s hard to pinpoint one year. I had a great childhood growing up in Bicester, horse-riding across what was Glory Farm fields and swimming in the long-gone outdoor pool behind NatWest Bank. My life is good, I have a fabulous husband, three gorgeous daughters, four lovely grandchildren plus two more on the way, and my nieces who live with us

DARKEST MOMENT: The loss of my younger sister to cancer

PROUDEST BOAST: I have loads. I played netball for Oxfordshire, and have also been a coach and manager for the Tate and Lyle team which represents Bicester. I took the team to the quarter finals of a national competition. My family also make me proud. Someone once said to me, you and your husband make beautiful babies, I thought that was the best compliment I had ever had

WORST WEAKNESS: Chocolate, especially Cadbury’s milk chocolate

LESSONS LEARNED: Life is short, enjoy while you can

DULLEST JOB: Housework. I have always worked for the family business and enjoyed every moment.

GREATEST SHAME: Falling over at one of my daughter’s birthday parties. We had taken them bowling and as I took my turn I stepped just over the line and on to the alley. The flooring is greasy and I slipped and fell over. Because it was greasy I couldn’t get back up. I was stone cold sober

LIFELONG HERO: My husband Dave, he’s my soulmate, he’s reliable and my strength. Whether I’m right or wrong he supports me

OLDEST FRIEND: Dave

WIDEST SMILE: Seeing my family, my children and grandchildren

FAVOURITE DREAM:Being with happy people. I’m very family orientated and love nothing more than being on holiday and sharing magic moments with the people I love

BIGGEST REGRET: Knowing selfish people
