Oxford City, under the new management team of Justin Merritt and Mike Ford, suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at home to Hillingdon Borough in Division 1 South & West of the British Gas Business Southern League.

The result leaves the pair with plenty of thinking to do as Hillingdon ran riot at Court Place Farm.

The visitors got off to a flying start as Sam Byfield drove home in the first minute from the edge of the area.

After such an early setback, City created several chances to pull level.

First, Alex Stewart drove over, then Harry Burnley should have done better when he fired wide from a Ray Spence cross.

But City were level on 22 minutes when, following Mark Jones's corner, Lewis Craker (pictured) got a crucial touch to knock the ball home.

However, Hillingdon were quicky back in front as Byfield grabbed his second after some poor defending, then four minutes from the break, Byfield's corner was headed in at the far post to make it 3-1.

Leon Nelson stretched the further seven minutes after the break, and City's misery was compounded six minutes later as substitute Michael Murray finished off a cross from the right.
