Witney weightlifter Dan Middleton was in great form for the South Midlands in an inter-region competition in Derby.
The 17-year-old improved his overall personal best by 12kg, his best in the snatch being raised by 7kg to 110kg.
In the clean and jerk, Middleton then lifted 130kg - eclipsing his previous best by three kilograms.
Clubmate Stephen Edwards, 15, also represented the South Midlands, snatching 58kg, and clean and jerking 45kg, which was a qualifying standard for next year's British Schoolboys Championships.
