East Oxford CC have been booted out of the Oxfordshire Cricket Association.

In an unprecedented move, the OCA, who this year celebrated their centenary, have refused East Oxford's application for 2007.

Now the club have lodged an appeal, which it is hoped will be heard before the end of the month as the league's annual meeting takes place at Bicester Town FC on Thursday, November 30.

East Oxford have been in hot water with the OCA on several occasions since joining the league four years ago.

But it appears the threat of legal action over the Osberton Radiators Cup saga this summer was the final straw for league chiefs.

East Oxford were thrown out of the competition after being found guilty of fielding two ineligible players, but were then reinstated on appeal, following claims of alleged racial discrimination.

However, the shenanigans threw the competition into chaos and it was subsequently scrapped.

Frank Eley, the OCA general secretary, said: "It is based on their attitude of the last four years.

East Oxford secretary Tamsin Khan declined to comment.
