BB&O Round-up

GOSFORD All Blacks boosted their hopes of a top-four finish after a 24-0 home victory over BB&O Premier Division basement boys Princes Risborough.

Fly half Harry Sutton set up fifth-placed Gosford’s opening try for centre Chris Bennett before scoring the second himself from skipper Tim Ellis’s pass.

Scrum half Will Watts converted, while hooker Liam Donnelly’s try made it 17-0 at half-time.

Play was moved to an adjacent pitch so that Watts could receive treatment for a blow to the head, but he recovered.

Sutton wrapped up the scoring with his second try – an interception effort from halfway, which Ellis converted.

Chipping Norton almost ended leaders Stow-on-the-Wold’s 100 per cent record, going down 10-9 at home.

Josh Witts’s last-minute drop goal earned Didcot an 18-16 home victory over Faringdon in the BB&O Championship.

Didcot had scored tries from Paul Parlett and Carl Betteridge, plus a penalty and a conversion from Paul Costello.

Full back Connor Douglas grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Abingdon won 35-7 at home to Crowthorne.

No 8 Jamie Lochrie, wing Benny Samuel and outside centre Stefan Dahle also scored, Dahle adding a conversion and a penalty.
