Wantage trainer Henry Candy has a trip to Royal Ascot in mind for Music Master after the colt opened his account at Newmarket yesterday.
A promising fourth on his debut at Salisbury last October, the 13-2 chance kept finding more for Fergus Sweeney from the front to repel newcomer Red Rocker by half a length in the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes..
“We only managed one run last year as he had a big frame to fill,” said Candy.
“I think seven furlongs might be as far as he wants, being a Piccolo, and we could come back here for the King Charles Stakes.
“If all's OK, then it could be something like the Jersey (at Royal Ascot).”
TOP Dancer’s success at Cheltenham may be his last for Ben Case’s Edgcote stables, near Banbury, as his next date is due to be at the sales.
The six-year-old outstayed his rivals to win the Rundle And Co Handicap Chase over three and a half miles under Daryl Jacob.
And Case said: “If I can’t find a buyer for him he’ll make somebody a nice horse.”
