ASTON Rowant trainer Alan Hill has a choice of running Fly Direct or Ocean Du Moulin in the Southern Grand National mixed open at the Kimblewick Hunt meeting at Kingston Blount, near Chinnor, tomorrow.

Fly Direct swerved a crack at the Lord Ashton of Hyde’s Cup at Mollington last Saturday, due to the soft ground, while Ocean Du Moulin was third to Rumbavu at Lockinge on Easter Monday.

Emily Harbour, who works for Hill, could provide one of the main dangers in the four-mile contest with the dour stayer Shammy Buskins.

Hill has the option of letting Fly Direct bid to repeat last year’s success under his jockey son, Joe, in the confined or to tackle the Point-to-Point Owners & Riders’ Association (PPORA) Club members conditions race.

Stablemate More Trouble also holds entries in these two contests.

The latter event could be particularly competitive as it has also attracted The Tother One, Or Bleu, Boychuk plus Salt And Vinegar, who won the restricted here last year.

Sizing America, sixth to Tartan Snow in the Fox Hunter’s Chase at Aintree, is an intriguing entry for Sally Randell, who trans at Hatford, near Stanford in the Vale, in the PPORA Club members’ race for veteran and novice riders.

The first race is at 2pm.
