LONG-SERVING club shop manager Hilary Sillman is expecting an emotional day working at her final match tomorrow.

But after 35 years as an Oxford United employee she is looking forward to watching all 90 minutes next season for the first time since the 1970s.

She started working in the club’s lottery department and has been part of the club’s ups and downs ever since.

The grandmother retires at the end of the month, so the Rochdale game is the final one as a member of staff.

She said: “I think when I finally turn the key in the lock for the last time there may be a few tears, but at the same time I am really looking forward to my retirement.”

Sillman will remain a familiar face as a season ticket holder – which carries one big bonus.

She said: “I have had to close the shop before, and then open it after, matches.

“I haven’t seen the first or last ten minutes of a match in 35 years so I am really looking forward to that!”
