DEADLY Oxford Hawks crushed Henley 8-0 to stay in touch with the leaders in South League Premier Division 1.

Jack Biggs scored four goals and Ted Bennett three as Hawks put the previous week’s defeat by Spencer behind them.

Bennett’s early strike plus a Biggs penalty and an excellent finish from Alex Williams put Hawks 3-0 up at the break.

Biggs added three further penalty corner strikes, while Bennett completed his treble.

Oxford bounced back from the previous week’s defeat to win 6-1 at home to Milton Keynes 2nd and go fourth in Regional Division 1.

A Sean Cox hat-trick, a brace from leading scorer Dan Bleach and a debut goal from England Under 16 player Josh Wierszycki killed off a comeback after the visitors’ David Breuilly scored with a chip over Oxford keeper Callum Chapman.

Tim Chilvers scored a hat-trick as Witney routed visitors West Hampstead 2nd 6-1 to keep up their title chase in Middlesex Berks Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

Ben Wells put Witney into an early lead before limping off with a hamstring strain, while Fraser Bernard and Chilvers made it 3-0 at half-time.

Hampstead replied after the break, but two goals from Chilvers and one from Ben Moss completed the victory which keeps Witney top on goal difference.

Bicester lost their unbeaten record with a 3-0 defeat away to leaders South Berkshire

After trailing 2-0 at the break, Bicester managed to restrict their host to one more goal, thanks to the efforts of keeper Nathan Elliott.
