DIRECTOR of rugby Matt Williams has signed a contract extension with Chinnor, committing his future to the club until 2020.

He heads into a fourth campaign with the Thame-based side, who secured promotion to National League 1 for the first time last season.

Williams has already been planning for life in the third tier of English rugby.

Dan George and Paddy Gill have been added to Chinnor’s backroom staff, with Ricky Khan retained as first team coach.

Former London Welsh player George will also bolster the side’s options at hooker.

The 31-year-old said: “All the boys I know who have played at Chinnor have nothing but positive things to say.

“I like what Matt and the club are about and I’m excited to see what 2018-19 brings.”

Gill becomes Chinnor’s skills/attack coach, after holding a similar position, as well as being team manager, at Ealing Trailfinders.

He was also the backs coach at London Irish Wild Geese last season.

Williams said: “Wild Geese were one of the best creative backlines in National 2.

“He will ably assist Ricky and I’m sure he will put an early marker down on our already exciting backline.”

Powerhouse Strength & Conditioning, run by RAF members Liam South, Josh Scott and Darren Oliver, will be in charge of Chinnor’s pre-season boot camp plans.
