THE Yellow Army will mark Oxford United’s 125th anniversary with a charity walk next month.

Starting at the Britannia Inn, Headington, where the club was founded, they will make the four-mile journey to the Kassam Stadium for the home game with Shrewsbury Town on October 27.

U’s legend Les Robinson is among those signed up to the event and the Yellow Army are looking to encourage as many fans as possible to join in.

Previous walks have raised thousands of pounds and this year’s event will be divided between the U’s Community Trust and mental health charity Oxfordshire Mind.

They are attempting to raise £5,000 and have set up a JustGiving page.

Leanne Merritt, community fundraiser at Oxfordshire Mind, said: “As a charity, we rely on the donations of our supporters and fundraisers to help us develop our work.

“Your fundraising will help us to raise awareness of mental health and mental well-being across Oxfordshire, and bring our services to more people who are in need of support.”
