PAUL Armstrong triumphed off the first peg in the Masons AC match fished by ten anglers on the Thames below Donnington Bridge.
Armstrong caught roach and skimmers, alternating between worm, maggot, casters and feeders of chopped worm, for a weight of 14lb 11oz 0drms.
Runner-up, on the last peg by Iffley Lock, was Jason Bean with perch and roach caught on maggot and worm for 13.7.0, while Henry Clarke came third with 11.7.0.
The Wolfson College stretch of the River Cherwell was the venue for North Oxford AS’s Foster Cup match.
Dave Scott-Picton had a net of roach on bread for a winning weight of 15.1.0, followed by Maurice Winstone who had 11.1.0 of worm-caught perch. Martin Robinson finished third with 8.14.0.
