CHINNOR fell to their third defeat of the season in a 32-26 loss at Rotherham Titans.

The result saw the Thame-based side, who were top, slip to fourth in National League 1, but two bonus points in the howling wind ensured they stayed in touch.

Chinnor took the lead after just four minutes when Alex Dancer powered over, Caolan Ryan adding the extras.

Titans hit back through Alex Dolly’s penalty and they led 10-7 when the same player converted his own try.

Chinnor went back in front when Joe Dancer crossed, Ryan converting.

But the hosts went on to lead 22-14 at half-time, thanks to tries from Connor Field and Alistair Thompson, Dolly converting the latter.

Chinnor found themselves 32-14 down when Field and Ellis Abrahams crossed.

But the visitors dug deep and closed to within six points when Craig Holland and Reon Joseph went over, Ryan converting the latter.

Chinnor were in the ascendancy for the final 15 minutes, but Rotherham held on.

Henley Hawks beat Taunton Titans 17-13 away in National League 2 South.

Xavier Andre’s try, converted by Roddy Giles, put the visitors 7-0 up.

Gary Kingdom’s penalty got Taunton on the scoreboard as Hawks reached half-time with a four-point lead.

Toby East’s try put the hosts in front, but Hawks hit back through Marcus Lowe, Giles adding the extras.

Ratu Vakalutukali crossed for Taunton, however the conversion was crucially missed as Henley led by a point with ten minutes to go.

A late Giles penalty then made sure of victory.
