THERE were medals galore for fighters from Didcot Taekwon-Do and Vale TKD at the Scottish Open Championships.

Gabriella Rhodes, from Wantage’s Vale club, came home from the Ravenscraig Sports Centre, near Glasgow, with gold medals in sparring and flying kicks, plus a bronze in junior black belt patterns.

Instructor Carl Davis won the 3rd/4th degree black belt pattens and heavyweight sparring.

Sean Mcintyre took gold in 1st degree black belt patterns and silver in middleweight black belt sparring.

Charlie Rhodes won the junior black belt lightweight sparring, plus bronze in junior black belt patterns.

Aisha Macey took home a silver in female junior red belt sparring and bronze in junior red belt patterns, while Salma Khamkhami was second in her age group for green belt sparring.

England’s Kirsty Miller, led the way for the Didcot club with golds in lightweight sparring and 4th Dan pattern.

Junior international Seren Fullbrook, 15, lost a narrow sparring final to take silver, following on from pattern bronze earlier in the day.

In her second event, Isla Fullbrook, was unable to progress to the medal stages.
