CHINNOR director of rugby Matt Williams believes his side are hitting top form at a crucial stage of the season.

Last week’s 40-33 comeback victory over Birmingham Moseley saw the Thame-based side make it four games unbeaten.

They are just two points off top spot in National League 1, but it was the manner of their win which saw Chinnor hit back from 26-7 behind that delighted Williams ahead of

tomorrow’s clash with Sale FC.

“It was a big, big win,” he said.

“At half-time we were quite a long way down and the character we showed to dominate the second half was just outstanding.

“And then with the scores level and in the final play of the match, we went through over ten phases to score.

“It feels like we are really building some momentum as we head towards Christmas.”

Tom Burns returns from injury to come in at No 8, which means Jack Ramshaw moves to the second row with Cameron Gray dropping to the bench.

Tomorrow’s match sees the return of a Chinnor prodigy with David Seymour back at his old stomping ground.

After playing as a junior at Kingsey Road, he went on to enjoy a top-flight career with Saracens and Sale Sharks.

Having stopped playing professional rugby last season, he now turns out for Sale FC.

“His shirts are all over the wall in our clubhouse,” said Williams.

“It will be great to have him come back here.”

Henley Hawks bid to make it eight successive National 2 South wins when they host third-placed Canterbury.

With the hosts just one place and two points ahead of their rivals, it is a crunch clash for both sides.

Henley head coach Luke Allen makes just one change in the pack, Marcus Lowe returning to the back row with Tom Hall on the bench.

In the backs, Dan Barnes keeps his place but moves to the centre at the expense of Ryan O’Neill, who drops to the bench.

Finn Pietersen returns as outside half.

Buoyed by their victory over Trowbridge last week, Witney are forced to make two changes to their side to take on Old Centralians in South West 1 East.

Ted Landrey and Scott Mortimer are unavailable, with Phil Thomas and Ed Clothier coming in.

Chris Davies and Ramez Farahani return to the front row, while Rory Garrett is named at fly half as Oxford Harlequins travel to Newbury Blues.

Elsewhere, Banbury host bottom side Swindon.
