CITY of Oxford won the top visiting club award at the annual Welsh Capital event.

They saw off more than 30 teams to the accolade thanks to a number of outstanding performances from their 19 members in Cardiff.

Among the top performers for the girls was Evie McLean.

The 14-year-old landed two freestyle golds (100m and 200m), two silvers (50m fly & 50m free) and three bronze medals (50m & 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley).

Ellen Bagley (12) also starred with four golds (50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke & 400m free), while Zofia Conway (10) triumphed three times in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Maddie Powell (15) won a gold (400m freestyle), silver (400m IM) and bronze (200m IM), while Lily Bradley (12) picked up two silvers (100m butterfly & 200m IM) and three bronzes (50m freestyle, 100m & 200m breaststroke).

For the boys, Chris Sims (15) won gold in the 100m breaststroke, silver in the 200m IM and bronze in the 100m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and 100m backstroke.

Kayden Sillah (12) scooped gold in the 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m and 100m breaststroke events.

Oxford’s other medal winners were Logan Bryan, Daria Budris, Jamie Conway, Freddie Cooke, Ayanna Fulga, Lachlan Middleton, Lara Mills, Charles Pauling, Monty Salmon, Faaris Sharif, Rebekka Smit and Morgan Smith.

  • CITY of Oxford trio Billy Wotton, Nicholas Skelton and Kenji McDade have been selected for the Swim England national event camp on December 17-20 at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Their selection comes off the back of their success at the South East Regionals and British Summer Championships.
