DESPITE wrecking havoc throughout Oxfordshire over the past few days, the snow could not stop our racehorse trainers.
Both ends of the county were hit hard, but Eve Johnson Houghton’s Blewbury yard, near Didcot, refused to be beaten.
And the same was true of Charlie Longsdon’s stables near Chipping Norton.
However, the wintry weather decimated the rest of the county's sporting action, with countless fixtures postponed.
Johnson Houghton reported that four inches of snow lay on her gallops on Friday, but she still managed to get every horse out for their exercise.
And despite no let-up over the weekend, the trainer added: “Still deep snow here.
“It’s going to take a lot to thaw it, but my wonderful team keep on going.”
The same was true in west Oxfordshire at Longsdon’s base, where every animal again made it out for their morning canter.
“Well done to the team making it in today and getting all the horses out and exercised,” he said.
