BEN Charlesworth played a starring role for England Young Lions on the opening day of their first Test against Bangladesh Under 19s.
The Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire opener scored 99 runs off 248 balls as the tourists, who elected to bat, found themselves 261-8 at the close of play at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Charlesworth’s knock included 12 fours as he was eventually caught by wicket-keeper Akbar Ali off the bowling of Ruhel Ahmed.
His fine performance came off the back of scoring 115 on Saturday during England’s 63-run defeat to Bangladesh in a one-day match at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
