ETHAN Rose and Eleanor Butler shone on an international stage.
The Oxfordshire duo were runners-up in their respective events at the French Under 17 Open Tournament in Aire-sur-la-Lys, near Calais.
Rose, the national under 19 champion, knocked out third seed Alex Lanier en route to the final, where he was beaten 21-19, 21-15 by Denmark’s Christopher Vittoriani.
Partnering Cornwall’s Cara Collins, Butler shone in the girls’ doubles, but had to settle for second place after losing 23-21, 21-13 to French pairing Alison Drouard and Laeticia Jaffrennou.
Back on home soil, her brother Oliver Butler won silver in the boys’ singles at the Under 17 Gold Star event in Redbridge, Essex.
Meanwhile, Oxfordshire hosted an under 13 tournament at St Helen & St Katharine School, Abingdon.
County player Clement Jin took the boys’ singles title, with Ryan Tao winning bronze.
Freddie Driver and Ethan Soanes clinched silver in the boys’ doubles.
