JENNY Florey stayed on course to successfully defend her ladies’ individual title in the Oxford & District League, writes PETE EWINS.
The reigning champion beat Pauline Withey 6,530-5,270 on aggregate in their
semi-final at Headington Conservative Club.
She will meet Donnington teammate Sue Atkins in the final, following a 5,860-5,270 success against Mellissa Standbridge.
Defending men’s champion Mark Trafford had a break of 12,370 in a 14,450-10,760
quarter-final victory against Lewis Stratford.
Allan Lacey also progressed at the Democrats Club, knocking out Dave Tooke 2-0 (15,860-6,580).
Adam Ingram hit fine form to progress
8,120-7,680 at Alan Oliver’s expense.
Melvyn Johnson beat John-Joe Kelly 2-0 in the last eight of the Never Won Cup.
Also at Masons, Richard Garrett reached the semi-finals of the Off The Spot singles against Phil McFarland.
At Vikings, Alan Lowe, Dave Rose and Chris Bateman beat Keith Hollis, Dave Gordon and Sid Ponting 4-0 in the Threes quarter-final.
