VIKINGS have reached the Oxford & District League’s Knockout Cup final after an exciting victory over Oracle A, writes PETE EWINS.
They will now take on Donnington in the Group A final.
Steven Sheard and Pauline Withey put Oracle in control, but Alan Oliver and Mike Jones hit back to level.
Ian Moss and Allan Lacey gave Vikings the lead for the first time, before Oliver and Jones sealed a 4-2 victory.
Donnington saw off West Oxford Democrats Club 4-2, with Ian Moquet, Dennis Atkins and Jenny Florey winning their singles before the pairs were shared.
Berinsfield will face Gladiators in the Group B final.
The former saw off Headington Conservative Club 4-1 despite falling behind to Dave Gordon’s opening singles win.
John Boal, Larry Richens and Adam Ingram hit back with victories, before success in the first pairs match ensured victory.
Gladiators Club saw off Oracle B 4-2 in the other semi-final clash.
