CHUI-QUE Wong shone against some of the best players in the country at the Under 12 National Cup.
The Bicester youngster was seeded tenth for the round-robin tournament in Blackpool, finishing ninth.
Wong, 11, claimed two wins, including an 11-9, 3-11, 11-8, 11-8 defeat of eventual bronze medallist Bethany Ellis.
The Kings Meadow Primary School pupil said: “It was fun, but it was really challenging because they are all really good players and it’s hard to beat them.
“I’ve learned loads and my best performance was when I beat Bethany because that gave me a bit of confidence.”
