OXFORD United’s players had extra reason to celebrate Monday’s win at Shrewsbury Town.

Boss Karl Robinson revealed he had set out an incentive for them to go and get the victory.

It means Gavin Whyte, whose hat-trick claimed maximum points, is likely to be the most popular player in the squad.

Robinson said: “The players are off until Friday now.

“I said to them before the game I’ll give you a day off for every point you get.”
