JAMES Henry says Oxford United are on a mission to sign off in style at home by delivering one more victory today.

Three points against Doncaster Rovers would take their total to 39 – a figure which has only been beaten once at the Kassam Stadium in the Football League.

It is an impressive response given they lost five of the first six games on home soil this season, but Henry has not been surprised.

He said: “We never stopped believing in ourselves.

“Even when we were down there and looking like we were in big trouble, you came into the place and I don’t think anyone was moping around and feeling sorry for themselves.

“We managed to get it together and have had a good run to steer ourselves clear.

“We want to put on a performance for all the fans.

“They were still there when things weren’t going great for us this season, so it would be good to give them one last win and leave on a positive note.”

United have managed to find another gear in recent games, despite achieving their goal of Sky Bet League One survival.

They have beaten sides desperate for points at both ends of the table and finish their campaign against two sides in the promotion shake-up.

Rovers need points to protect their play-off place, which Henry believes will help United keep their standards high.

He said: “It generates the atmosphere, which keeps you focused because you know they’ll be bang up for it.

“We’ll give them a good game and hopefully come away with the three points.”

United will hand out several closely-contested awards before kick-off, but Henry’s status as top scorer has been safe for weeks.

The midfielder is very aware the last of his career-best 14 goals came in January, though.

He said: “I scored all of them early and have had a drought. It would be nice to finish with a couple.”

Ahmed Kashi is suspended, but Simon Eastwood and Marcus Browne are available again after serving bans.

Nico Jones, 17, is being considered for his first start, particularly with Rob Dickie (calf) a doubt.

Rovers only injuries are long-term issues for goalkeeper Ian Lawlor (shoulder) and defender Joe Wright (ankle).
