CAPTAIN Jonny Cater starred in both matches, but could not save Oxfordshire from a double loss in Buckinghamshire yesterday.

The captain top-scored with 72 in the first and 68 in the second game, but Oxon fell to two seven-wicket defeats at High Wycombe.

It ended their chances of topping the Group 2 table and advancing to the latter stages of the competition.

Cater’s 72, which came off just 59 balls with three fours and six sixes, helped Oxon reach 138-9.

However, the hosts cruised home in 17.2 overs.

The second match saw Oxon set 162-9, Cater again starring with 68 from 36 deliveries, with six fours and three

sixes.

Gareth Andrew struck with the very first ball of the Bucks reply, but the hosts had little trouble in reaching 164-3 in just 13.4 overs.
