OXFORD United’s pre-season fixture at Brackley Town will go ahead as planned.

A fire destroyed the National League North side’s clubhouse, bar area and other rooms yesterday.

But a statement on Brackley’s website says the “changing rooms were untouched” and the U’s friendly on Thursday, July 11 will still be played.

It continues: “That should mean there need be no disruption to the football team regarding preparations for training and matches.

“(Manager) Kevin (Wilkin) continues with his first team plans, training starts next weekend and the exciting programme of pre-season fixtures goes ahead as scheduled with the visit of Oxford United on July 11.”
