GARRY Bailey was in spectacular form as Swan B brushed aside Chequers A in the Greene King Oxford & District League, writes ANDY BEAL.

He clanged off 16 dolls (6-5-5) to help his side to a 3-0 victory in the Premier/Section 1 clash.

Jason Coates also hit a six, having started with a blob, in leg scores of 22-18, 30-20, 29-17.

Garsington Sports lead Section 1 after coming away from George A with all three points – however the game was closer than the score suggests.

Garsington won the opener 23-19 and then set 27 in the next, George falling agonisingly short with 26.

The home side then set 25 in the final leg, only for Garsington to hit 27 and wrap up a 3-0 success.

James Morrison (4-5-5) and Kevin Stuart (5-4-5) both hit 14 and were unlucky to end up on the losing team.

The chase for the Premier title is hotting up.

Woodman put themselves back in the hunt after beating Gladiators A 2-1, with anchor man Mark Rollins hitting five to win the second leg and seal victory.

Swan A still top the table after a 2-1 win at New Club A, while Black Prince got their title ambitions back on track after a 3-0 win at home to Red Lion A Yarnton.

Rob Bradford (6-4-4) hit 14 dolls and Mick Phipps (4-6-3) with 13 were top dogs for Prince.

Steve Greenough’s 14 dolls (5-4-5) helped Donnington C go top of Section 2 after a 2-1 win against Red Lion A Kidlington.

John Brown (6-5-2) bagged himself a six in his 13-doll haul for Lion.

Six Bells D Kidlington slipped to second when they lost 2-1 at home to Gladiators C 2-1.

John Allnutt was in superb form for Section 3 leaders Gladiators B hitting 14 dolls (3-5-6) to steer them to a 3-0 win at Six Bells A Kidlington.

Ady Cross (4-6-4) was unfortunate to end up on the losing side after also clanging off 14.

After three previous losses, Queens Head have dragged themselves back in the title hunt after they demolished Six Bells B 3-0 with leg scores of 18-12, 25-11, 18-12.

Richard Wyness hit a steady 12 dolls (4-4-4) for title chasers Seacourt Bridge in their 2-1 win against The George B.

The last remaining unbeaten record in the league went when Section 4 leaders Catherine Wheel B crashed 2-1 at home to Vikings Sports A.

Despite Northway Club B languishing near the foot of the table, Jack Lane recorded a baker’s dozen (5-4-4) in a comfortable 3-0 win at Vikings Sports B.

It proved unlucky 13 for Mark Burke, as his fine haul (4-4-5) was to no avail in Cowley Workers’ 2-1 defeat against Bullnose Morris B.

It is so tight in Section 5 that only five points cover nine of the ten teams with the two Cricketers Arms sides – Littleworth and Cowley – leading the way.

Section 6 leaders Red Lion B Kidlington beat Catherine Wheel A 3-0 – even though only four dolls separated the teams overall.

Golden Ball, the only team without a win all season, almost broke their duck at Prince of Wales, but were denied in a close game, the hosts winning 12-11, 9-12, 14-9.

In Section 7, Red Lion Cassington’s season is going from bad to worse.

After winning four of their first five games they have now lost three on the bounce, this time to the hands of leaders Headington Con Club.
