KARL Robinson is likely to share the Oxford United captain’s armband around next season.
The U’s boss said the thinking behind the idea is that the players take on a collective responsibility, rather than relying on one individual.
John Mousinho will remain club captain, but a number of players will take on the matchday role.
“We’re going to have group captains,” Robinson said. “We’re going to band it into age groups.

“When you have one person, the players look to him for guidance, but what when he’s injured?
“As a collective, they should all be able to take responsibility.
“Mous will be the club captain – that’s important, because what you do need as a manager is the middle man that you can go to.
“But equally when we’re getting stuff back from the players, I’d like that to be a collective thing. We will have three or four players who will take the captaincy depending on the games. I think it gives more of a freedom to that responsibility.”
