WESTCOTT took advantage of leaders Witney Swifts not being in action to close the gap with a 38-run win over visitors Marsh Gibbon in Division 1 of the OCA League.

Westcott were bowled out for 194, Tanveer Hussain hitting 45 and Rehman Ullah 36.

Marsh Gibbon fell for 156, Stuart Leonard scoring 57 and Ullah taking 4-29.

Oxenford’s faint title hopes suffered another setback as they lost by 36 runs at Stonesfield.

George Redknap (51) led the hosts to 179-3, Amer Ali claiming 4-42.

Oxenford were dismissed for 137, Zain Iqbal top-scoring with 64 and Tom Gubbins taking 4-24.

Garsington & Cowley posted a 26-run win at home to Middleton Cheney.

Usman Muhammad Younis struck a crucial 71 in Garsington’s 164 all out, Spencer King claiming 4-35 and Josh Nadin 4-46.

Zarwali Ahmadzai then took 4-13 to send Cheney tumbling to 138 all out.

Faringdon remain firmly in the bottom two as they lost by three wickets against Wolvercote.

Mike Hume had hit 92 not out in Faringdon’s 181-6.

He then took 4-33 in Wolvercote’s reply, but the visitors reached 183-7.

In Division 2, leaders East & West Hendred posted a routine five-wicket win at home to Watlington.

They restricted their visitors to 189-9, before Andy Broadbent (55no) and Nigel George (52no) led Hendred to 190-5.

Wootton & Boars Hill skittled hosts Stanton Harcourt out for just 50 as they eased to a seven-wicket win.

Damien Wiskin took 5-30 and Nik King 4-19 as Wootton held sway.

Kilkenny brushed aside hosts Clifton Hampden by 77 runs.

The visitors posted 238-9, Billy Carter top-scoring with 61 not out.

Darren Gordon then claimed 4-32 to help dismiss Clifton Hampden for 161.

Bampton saw off visitors Cairns Fudge by six wickets.

Fudge posted 172-6, Martin Hanscombe hitting 68.

James Bray (54) and Ted Landray (43) then led Bampton home at 175-4.

Elsewhere, Hanborough squeezed past visitors Tetsworth by two wickets.

Hook Norton secured the Division 3 crown with four matches to spare as they crushed Brill by 169 runs.

Laurence Grimes (41) and Max Harris (40) helped the home side to 218 all out, before Jordan Glazier claimed 4-3 as visitors Brill were rolled over for 49.

Combe hammered hosts Wantage by nine wickets.

Mike Eeley starred with the ball, taking 6-35 in Wantage’s 165 all out.

Tom Dingwall (75no) and Robbie Nicholson (62) took Combe to 166-1.

An unbeaten century from Shoaib Ahmed helped Radley to a 71-run win at home to Marcham.

Ahmed hit 100 not out in Radley’s

253-5, before Marcham were restricted to 182-8.

Broughton & North Newington’s Andy Parsons struck an unbeaten 70 in his side’s nine-wicket win at Kidlington.

Nick Hibberd took 4-37 in Kidlington’s 160 all out, Sam Rodway hitting 62.

Parsons and Hibberd (49) then steered Broughton to 164-1.

Steventon returned to winning ways in Division 4 as they beat hosts Wolvercote 2nd by 65 runs.

Richard Chapman hit 65 in Steventon’s 157 all out, but the star was Lalit Chablani, who took 6-22 in Wolvercote’s 92 all out.

Oxenford 2nd kept up the pressure with a crushing ten-wicket win over Uffington.

They dismissed their visitors for 67, Sanjay Rathee claiming 4-21.

Meanwhile, Chadlington saw off Shrivenham by 40 runs and Deddington edged out Garsington & Cowley 2nd by two wickets.

Tetsworth 2nd took another huge stride towards the Division 5 title with a six-wicket win over Sunningwell.

They restricted their visitors to 163-7, Sunil Gil taking 3-37 and Richard Sutton hitting 79 not out.

Aaron Huish (41) and Ayman Aman (39no) batted well to steer the hosts to 165-4.

In Division 6, Chesterton easily beat Swinbrook by 90 runs.

Trevor Price hit 106 and Graham White 93 in Chesterton’s 238 all out.

Joe Parker struck 63 not out in Swinbrook’s reply, but they fell for 148 as Daren Trinder took 4-9.

Four wickets apiece for David Bowkett (4-12) and Bilal Hakeem

(4-25) saw Oxenford 3rd to a 34-run win over Hook Norton 2nd.

Oxenford set 178-8, before the visitors fell for 144.

There was a thrilling clash in Division 7 North, where Stonesfield

2nd beat Chipping Norton 2nd by four wickets with only two balls to spare.

Chippy posted 206-6, Slamat Sami hitting 99 not out.

Stewart Moss (72) led Stonesfield’s reply as they edged in at 207-6.

In Division 7 South, Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd’s Johnnie Fisher scored an excellent 114 not out to help Wootton & Boars Hill to a crushing 138-run victory over Sunningwell 2nd.
