CAMERON Brannagan believes Oxford United are riding high after continuing their good start to the season.

The midfielder's 12th-minute strike was the only goal of the game against Peterborough United.

It came after last week's opening-day at Sunderland, leaving the U's with four points from what looked a daunting start to the season against two of Sky Bet League One's promotion contenders.

Brannagan said: "The confidence in the team is just flowing.

"You can see it in training as well, the connection between the boys at the minute is great and we can only keep that up.

"It’s a great feeling to score, but the main thing was to get the three points.

"I’m looking at getting more goals this season and getting a bit further forward, so I’m made up for myself and the boys."

Boss Karl Robinson said: "When you look at the goal back it’s forward passes, forward runs and getting a lot of people in the box.

"There’s no secret to scoring goals, it’s making sure it happens.

"The first half was what I expect from my teams.

"People will get carried away with our in-possession stuff, but I thought when we lost the ball the way we pressed was very good."
