A 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Bletchington leaves them three points behind leaders Oracle with two games remaining.
Billy Hill (5,700) gave the home side the lead, but the visitors hit back to go 2-1 ahead as Pete Soanes and Geoff Powell triumphed.
Hill (6,100) then squared the match with his second win.
However, Soanes and Powell took the final two games to give Bletchington victory.
Donnington’s title hopes disappeared after losing 5-1 away at leaders Oracle.
Although they won their opening leg through Ian Moquet, the hosts won the next five games thanks to Matt Jones (10,480 & 5,890), Mark Trafford (14,480 & 6,300) and Alan Donavan (7,180).
John Boal and Adam Ingram won twice apiece as Berinsfield beat Gladiators 5-1.
An identical scoreline saw Vikings see off Masons, with Mick Jones and Melvyn Johnson winning both matches.
