THE two people arguably most synonymous with Lincoln City’s resurgence are no longer at the club, after manager Danny Cowley and his assistant, brother Nicky, left for Huddersfield Town.

The Imps still possess plenty of talent, however, with these three players key to their hopes tomorrow.

JACK PAYNE

The diminutive No 10 was Oxford United’s most creative player during a loan spell under Pep Clotet in 2017/18 and has become a crucial part of the Lincoln attack since signing in July.

Payne will constantly look to receive the ball in dangerous positions and the U’s will need to keep a close eye on the 24-year-old.

JASON SHACKELL

Boasting hundreds of games across England’s top four divisions, Shackell is certainly an experienced campaigner.

He turns 36 next week, but the defender still possesses the leadership qualities that have seen him captain several clubs.

TYLER WALKER

The highly-rated forward joined on loan from Nottingham Forest this summer and has already netted five goals for City.

After scoring 22 times for Mansfield Town in Sky Bet League Two last season, Walker already looks at home at this level.
