Will Clements hit the extra-time winner for Division 2 side Benson AFC who sent Division 1 side Drayton spinning out of the North Berks League Cup with a 4-3 victory, writes Phil Annets.

James Oliver, Nick Skiller and Robert Lyons scored for Benson during normal time in the first-round tie, while Daryl Hutt (2) and Billy Warner netted for Drayton.

Substitute Mike Beal scored a last-gasp winner as cup holders Saxton Rovers grabbed a 3-2 victory at fellow Division 1 side Wootton & Dry Sandford.

Richard Chilvers, from the penalty spot, and Tom Larman had netted for Wootton, either side of goals by Kev Giddings and Adam Greenaway for Saxton. Then came Beal’s 89th-minute winner.

Didcot Casuals beat Division 1 rivals Harwell Village 6-5 on penalties after the sides were llocked at 2-2 after extra time.

Liam Corrigan for Harwell and Lawrence Hoey for Didcot had exchanged goals in normal time, while Lee Fuller for the hosts and Fletcher Hoey with a penalty for the visitors, scored in extra time.

In the other all-Division 1 contest, Crowmarsh Gifford ran out 5-1 winners to Lambourn Sports, with Phil Hedges grabbing a hat-trick.

Mike Fellows and Paul Hannigan also netted for Crowmarsh, while Ben Matthews had equalised.

In an all-Division 2 tie Grove Rangers needed extra time to defeat Steventon 3-1 with goals from Ben Eltham, Dave Stebbings and Chris Whitworth. Peter Hardie replied.

Tom Weeks hit a four-timer for Division 2 Childrey United who thras-hed Challow United 7-2.

Chris Pettis, James Wilkins and Sam Weeks completed Childrey’s tally, while Andy Caven (penalty) and Eammon McGowran replied.

Division 3 side Benson Lions shocked Division 2 outfit East Hendred 3-0 in the first round of the War Memorial Cup.

Dan Sanderson (2) and Joe Jeans were on target.

In Division 3, Dan Oyston scored five goals in Bampton Town’s 8-1 win against Sutton Courtenay.

Steve Godfrey, Darryl Kew and Tom Madden got the others, with Dan Cox replying.
