OXFORD City boss Mike Ford says his side must sort out their home form if they are to stay in the hunt for a Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division play-off place.

After a disappointing start to the season, City have turned things around and are just three places outside the top five.

But recent blips at home have proved costly, and Ford knows they must put them right, starting against Bashley tomorrow.

“We have played very well in our last six or seven away games,” he said.

“We haven’t picked up points in all of them, but our performances have been very good.

“But at home we have only picked up one point out of a possible six, and that is something we have to correct.”

City are still without goalkeeper Richard Knight and have a doubt over winger Mark Bell.

Bell aggravated a thigh injury in the thrilling 4-4 draw at Didcot on Saturday and is a big doubt.

Banbury United boss Billy Jeffrey says his depleted side will have to be at their very best to beat high-flying Brackley tomorrow.

Jeffrey is missing three players, and has doubts over another.

Joe Coleman, Jon Gardner and Jason Taylor are all on holiday, while Jack Ashton is struggling.

“We’re down to the bare bones,” Jeffrey said.

“We are doing remarkably well to be where we are considering the age of the size and more importantly, the size.

“Our resources compared to teams like Brackley mean that we should be very proud of what we’ve done.

“Our aim is a top-ten finish, because very few would have believed we could do that at the start of the season.”

Didcot Town boss Stuart Peace is looking for his side to build on their draw against City when they travel to fellow-strugglers Swindon Sup-ermarine.

“We probably should have had three points against Oxford City with the chances we created,” Peace said.

“But we need to follow that up with a couple of good results to try and get away from the bottom sides.”

Matty Jack is still out with a knee injury, while there is a doubt over Michael Alexis (back).

North Leigh and Abingdon United both have home matches on Saturday.

North Leigh entertain Cirencester, while Abingdon host Hungerford.
