o Page landed 226.4.0 of fish a record weight for the venue, beating the old mark of 211lb.

Second came Richard Brain with 178.0.0, while Andy Benwell was third with 121.4.0.

Fifteen Witney AS members enjoyed a sensational day at Boddington Reservoir near Banbury.

The carp went feeding mad, and the top six anglers all caught over 100lbs of fish.

The total weight was a staggering 1,348lbs 1oz and winner Dave Williams had 208.4.0.

Williams caught his fish on worm over chopped worm on the pole, finishing well clear of Phil Weston with 169.12.0 on pole and running.

Bill Bryant was third with 140.0.0 on pole and pellet, while three other anglers also passed the century mark.

Beehive AC fished the first leg of the Beehive Cup on an out-of-sorts Jacks Pond in Didcot.

With the resident carp population spawning in the margins, bites were hard to come by for the 16 competitors.

But Dave Simmons junior waited patiently to land four carp on pole and maggot for 28lb 10ozs and first place.

Second came Nigel Waters with 20lb 13ozs carp and chub to pole and maggot, and third was Kevin Jeacock with four carp for 13lb taken on pole.

Alan Bushnell was a clear winner of North Oxford's match with Charlbury on the canal at Yarnton.

The Charlbury angler recorded 10.3.0, including a carp of 8.12.0, to finish well ahead of the 12-strong field.

North Oxford's Colin Quartermain was second with 3.3.0, while Charlbury's Phil Bowen was third with 2.11.0.

Thanks to Bushnell's contribution, Charlbury won the first leg of this match 13.4.0 to 5.12.0.

The second leg is at Charlbury in November.
