Grove produced a stunning first-half display to win 34-19 at Tadley and go top.

Scrum half Roger Sevier put the visitors ahead with a penalty.

Grove lost flanker Jamie Fredericks to a nasty head cut, while Tadley had No 8 Darren Staley sin-binned.

Fly half Nick Sevier side-stepped three defenders for Grove’s first try, converted by Roger Sevier.

Grove lost prop Jimmy Wallbridge to a leg injury, but scored again when centre Ben Nicholl fed wing Harry Carr.

Centre Tom Clipsham and wing Tom Harrington created a second try for Nick Sevier, with Roger Sevier converting for 22-0.

Flanker Guy Nicholl broke two tackles to notch Grove’s fourth try, converted by Roger Sevier, while Clipsham went close with a superb solo run.

After the break, Guy Nicholl was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle, then Roger Sevier followed him to the cooler for an offence that left his side bemused.

Tadley manageed two converted tries while Grove were down to 13 men, but the visitors hit back with Carr’s second try.

Grove had prop Richard Keen yellow-carded before Tadley bagged a third try.

Chipping Norton went down 35-24 at home to Windsor in a game that ended in fury.

Pushing for two bonus points near the end of the match, the hosts were awarded six successive penalties inside Windsor’s 22.

As tempers flared, the referee lost control, awarded Chippy a penalty and then blew for full time before it could be taken.

The hosts protested that a game cannot end in this way, but to no avail.

A try from Taks Ndwere, plus a conversion and penalty from James Driscoll put Windsor 10-0 up.

But Chippy hit back with a try from Matty King, converted by fly half Adam Smith.

Ndwere struck again before half-time, but Smith replied with a penalty.

Chippy managed second-half tries from Justin Parker, both converted by Smith.

But two penalties from Driscoll, who also converted tries from Ndwere and Adam Williamson, sealed it for Windsor.

The heated finish saw yellow cards for Chippy’s Ben Davey and Windsor’s Aron McGroaty and Sven Manning.

Oxford were beaten 46-14 at home to Aylesbury despite a strong start.

Tom Johnson put Nick Graham through a gap to score under the posts, with Tom Olley converting.

Aylesbury scored most of their points in the final 20 minutes.

But Oxford grabbed a consolation when Johnson set up Olley for try No 2, which the latter converted.
