Richard Cook landed the top award at the Oxfordshire Cricket Board annual presentation dinner at Oxford’s Hawkwell House Hotel.

Cook, who skippered the under 17 side, was named player-of-the-season after an excellent campaign, which saw him score more than 600 runs, including two centuries and three 50s.

The presentations were split into three separate events, with more than 400 people attending.

Lloyd Sabin was named under 16 player-of-the-season, and also collected an outstanding achievement award for becoming the youngest Oxfordshire player ever to play in the Minor Counties Championship.

Michael Beard was another to pick up an achievement award for his recognition within the Gloucestershire setup and his selection for the England Under 17 development squad.

The under 15 player-of-the-year award went to Josh Megson, who also collected an achievement award for his 193 against Dorset, and for his inclusion in the South West Regional squad for their April tour to the West Indies.

Joe Barrett won the under 14 player-of-the-year award.

Other player of the year awards went to Max Mannering (under 13), Adam Samiullah (under 12), Thomas Dingwall (under 11) and Tom Price (under 10).

In the girls’ presentations, Linsey Smith, who is ranked in the top 50 cricketers at her age in the country, was singled out for an outstanding ach-ievement award.

Player-of-the-year awards went to Megan Burton (under 17), Abi Currie (under 15), Carla Wood (under 13) and Charlotte Boland (under 11).
