Oxfordshire's Tim Harvey is favourite to land the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Harvey, driving for Redline Racing, has led the title since the first race and holds a 19-point lead.

Even if nearest rival Michael Caine picks up the maximum 44 points on offer, Harvey still only needs 25 points to secure the title.

Harvey said: “I am looking forward to the weekend with anticipation and a small degree of trepidation.

“The slightest mistake, or even something completely out of your control, can influence your results – so there are just no guarantees.

“I know that statistically we are in a very strong position and all we really need to do is basically finish both races – but ‘all we need to do...’ is a huge statement to make before a race weekend.”

Qualifying takes place at 1.50pm today with round 19 starting at 5.40pm. Round 20, the final race, will take place at 2.45pm tomorrow.
