Oxford United stormed into the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup by seeing off North Leigh 9-3 at Thame United’s ASM Stadium.
Fielding a strong line-up including first-teamers Jack Midson, Alfie Potter and Simon Hackney, the U’s outgunned the Zamaretto Southern League Division 1 club.
Djoumin Sangare put them ahead with his first goal for the club, former United trainee Matty Taylor levelling on nine minutes.
Simon Clist and Alfie Potter were also on the mark, before a Jack Midson penalty after Potter was brought down made it 4-1.
United’s fifth came on 33 minutes from Daniel West, Andy McCable reducing the arrears, only for Hackney to make the half-time score an amazing 6-2.
Hackney, Clist and Midson helped themselves to further United goals, Taylor grabbning a third for North Leigh.
