After a weekend of confusion, the rearranged Oxfordshire final between Shipton-under-Wychwood and Challow & Childrey in the Persimmon Village Cup will be played at Shipton this Sunday.

The original game last Sunday was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.

The final had been scheduled to be played at Challow, who opted to switch it to Shipton as they were staging Oxfordshire’s Minor Counties Championship match against Wiltshire.

Normally with postponed matches, the rearranged game is switched to the visiting team from the original tie.

But compertition orgainsers the Cricketer Magazine have now confirmed the match will take place at Shipton as they were the original visiting side, as the rules state.

The winners will be away on June 26 to the winners of the delayed Dorset & Wiltshire final between Goatacre and Cattistock, which will also be decided this Sunday.
