National 2 South
CAPTAIN Tom Allen starred with a try treble as Henley Hawks won 33-12 at Lydney.
Full back Allen ended a two-month drought in style, while wing Christoph Bart and No 8 Matt Payne also crossed over.
Bart opened Henley’s account on seven minutes, with fly half James Comben converting.
It took Lydney 20 minutes to get into Hawks’ half, while the hosts had wing Dan Chui sin-binned for handling in a ruck.
Try No 2 saw centre Danny Wells off-load for Allen to score, Comben converting.
Flanker Paul Scott’s try and Tony Wicks’s conversion put Lydney back in the match on 56 minutes, but Allen bagged his second, Wells converting.
The sin-binning of captain James McMahon proved Lydney’s undoing, although they managed a further try through Josh Hannan.
Payne and Allen completed Hawks’ try tally, the latter converted by Comben.
But they were hit by leg injuries to centre Ali James and prop Alex Penny, which could sideline the pair for a number of weeks.
