Three Oxford United fans were taking no chances when it came to getting tickets for Swindon.
Danny Ferguson, Tom Chivers and Alex Pepper were determined to get their places for the big match – and so slept in their car outside the Kassam Stadium overnight.
But they still weren’t first in the queue.
The trio, from Wantage, did exactly the same thing to secure their tickets for the reverse fixture at the County Ground in August, as Pepper, 19, explained.
“We got to the stadium at about 2am, armed with duvets and sleeping bags,” he said.
“We did the same thing for the first Swindon game, so thought ‘why not do it again?’ “But it was freezing cold and when we woke up, we didn’t want to stand outside and get even colder, so waited in the car for a bit longer.
“Then other people starting to come and queue, so in the end we decided we had better get out.”
Pepper, a student at Bristol UWE, added: “We are all big Oxford supporters and get to as many games as we can around uni.”
