  • MAURICE Massey’s grand old servant Carrowkeal Oggie has died in his sleep after a successful 200-race career at Oxford.

Winner of 20 per cent of his races, the cry of ‘Oggie, Oggie’ as he came down the home straight is a great memory.

His last five years were spent in retirement at the Blackthorn kennels.

  • WE can expect full 12 race meetings now that the grading strength has reached 390, the highest for 12 months.

However, racing manager Gary Baiden said: “It will be fine for us now with the extra meetings in December, but come January we will have the problem of hounds missing regular runs and the moaning that goes with it.
