Marc Dibsdall got fed up with his partner Jessica Measor complaining about the amount of time he spent fishing, so he decided to take her with him!
And you can guess what happened next ...
The couple arrived at Newlands’ fishery State’s Lagoon, near Stanton Harcourt, and after setting up a pike rod for Jessica, Marc was about to sort out his own rods when she led out the cry “I’ve got one!”
After a rather awkward scrap, they slipped the net under a pike which went 18.6.0 – not bad for a first fish, on a first cast, on a first fishing trip!
Needless to say, Jessica (pictured) is now hooked.
The fish fell to a roach deadbait on size 6 trebles and a trace under a pencil float.
