RECORDS tumbled as two brothers thrillingly combined in a big home win for Cairns Fudge on Sunday, writes KIEREN BUSHNELL.

The stars of the 145-run win against Deddington in Division 4 were the hosts’ openers, Andy and Chris Small.

The pair put Deddington’s attack to the sword, sharing a stand worth 316 off 36 overs before Mark Small was out for 129 – his maiden century.

Andy Small carried his bat for a club record 200 not out, while the 386-2 total was also a new Cairns Fudge best.

Gerard Duncan (108no) and Ramesh Chennagiri (84) led Deddington’s response, but they finished on 241-5.

It completed a fine double for the club, who had beaten Eynsham by 77 runs on Saturday.

Will Caiger smashed 123 in Fudge’s 236 all out, which was beyond Eynsham, who were dismissed for 159.

Charlbury 2nd beat Chesterton by three wickets.

Chasing 104 all out, Adam Mayho hit 48 in Charlbury’s 105-7.

Graham Rowley’s 6-14 was all in vain as Kennington crashed to a 94-run defeat against Great Horwood 2nd.

Rowley’s haul restricted Horwood to 143-9, but Kennington’s ten men were out for just 49, including five ducks.

Asif Shah hit 71 and captain Nigel Coltman 51 to see early Division 1 leaders Garsington to 236-6 against Shrivenham.

The visitors were never up with the rate, ending on 193-5.

Rustam Rabani claimed five wickets to see East Oxford to a five-wicket win at Minster Lovell.

Rabani’s 5-28 and Maseh Sadiqi’s 4-42 helped dismiss Minster for 81, before East Oxford eased to 82-5.

Westbury lost at home to Broughton & North Newington by three wickets.

Azhar Shah (4-24) and Scott Bradley (3-11) shone with the ball to send Westbury tumbling to 82 all out.

Andy Parsons then led the way with 30 not out in Broughton’s 86-7.

Ivan Mulford impressed as East & West Hendred hammered Marsh Gibbon by 211 runs in Division 2.

Mulford smashed 110 and hi son Jack hit 60 as Hendred rattled up 265-7.

Mark Baring claimed 5-19 as Marsh Gibbon were out for 54.

Oxford Caribbean eased to a six-wicket win at home to Tetsworth.

The visitors were all out for 136, before Richard Burton (42) and Eddie Howard (38) led Caribbean to 139-4.

Max Godwin scored 69 to help Freeland to an 82-run win at Westcott.

Freeland posted 193-6, before Callum Parker (5-27) and Rob Panting (4-20) combined to dismiss the home side for 111.

Watlington edged out Stonesfield by one wicket in a thriller.

Batting first, Stonesfield scored 145-9, Mark Dodd taking 4-34.

Owen Lewis (39) led Watlington’s reply as they made 146-9.

In Division 3, Shane Baxter starred as Chipping Norton saw off Combe by 46 runs.

Jim McGeown hit 64 not out and Ben Tew 59 in Chippy’s 189-4, before Baxter took 6-24 as Combe were all out for 143.

Alistair Slay’s 5-35 helped Clifton Hampden to a seven–wicket win over Witney Swifts.

The visitors were all out for 75, Steve Wetherall taking 3-20, and then Clifton reached 78-3 for victory.

East Oxford 2nd beat West Ilsley by four wickets in a low-scoring match.

Mohammed Faruq took 4-18 as West Ilsley were dismissed for 85.

Wickets fell regularly in East Oxford’s reply, but they reached 87-6.

Darren Jones (5-21) and Omar Hussain (4-24) shone for Radley in their three-wicket win at Hailey.

The hosts’ Sean King scored 43 out of 96 all out, Radley reaching 97-7 for victory.
