Oxfordshire's Under 13 girls had a thrilling one-wicket victory over Buckinghamshire in their opening game of the season.
Needing six runs to win with three balls remaining and No 11 Charley Noble new to the crease, Oxon could hardly believe it as the tail-ender smashed her first ball for four, and then got a two off the second to record a memorable victory.
Bucks were dismissed for 124 in 31.1 overs, Oxfordshire claiming the last five wickets for 21 runs, with Ellie Noble taking three victims in five balls.
With two overs to go and two wickets in handed, Oxon needed 21, but Noble’s heroics got them home. Oxfordshire's Under 11s conceded an unbelievable 89 extras as they lost by 48 runs in their opening match against Berkshire.
Chasing a target of 152-5, in which extras dominated while Mara Smith took 2-5, Oxon were always behind the run rate and ended on 104-6, with Nicola Green top-scoring with 25 not out.
